DJs and Show Hosts

Currently the station owner (Marcella) her daughter (Mishawn) and the station webmaster (Frank) are running the initial Nisqually Radio broadcasts, and are being helped out by Heather and Elvis doing some of the announcing. We are running an active playlist consisting of very old music interspersed with original pieces of modern local musicians from every genre. What's an active playlist? It's simply a playlist which contains the list of audio files being played at the moment. It is under the control of the DJ and can be edited or changed while the list is playing. We add new music to the list as it comes in from performers as well as add our own sound bytes as we record them.

As you might imagine, we are currently looking for a few volunteer DJs and show hosts willing to go that extra mile to gain the real world experience of managing their own shows. Each day of the week will be dedicated to a different genre of music such as:

• Sunday: Religious
• Monday: Classical
• Tuesday: Jazz and Blues
• Wednesday: Country and Bluegrass
• Thursday: Folk
• Friday: Rock, Alternative & Metal
• Saturday: Pop, R & B
  

Interested DJs should note that any composition or recording less than 70 years old will require a signed release from the copyright owner in order to be played. Thus covering live musical events must be limited to original songs of the musicians and not be cover tunes. We would encourage the covering of live school sports events and interviews with people whom our community members might find interesting.
